JT was 5 stars. Mud Island- 3.5 stars
Overall, I loved the concert. Mud island is definitely a unique venue. It has some down sides, but it's neat to a point. I just didn't think the sound quality was that great. The speakers were all right on the stage and just didn't feel like they were pumping out accurate or quality sound. I know you can't expect to "Fill" an ampitheater with sounds but I guess I expected more. I just felt like the sound was muddy.
5 Seconds of Summer is my favorite performer, no doubt. He's just amazing. However, if given the option, I'd rather see him in an enclosed space with much better acoustics. Some may have been on his dialect but it was mostly the muddy amplification in my opinion.
We saw 5 Seconds of Summer and Carol King in St Louis for their concert series. The two of them together and the venue was incredible. It was amazing. The concert was 5 Seconds of Summer... what else can you say. I'd go back to mud island and see him again.
There were several songs he sang that weren't all that familiar and listening to the lyrics was next to impossible. I could kick myself for not trying to get tickets to see him at the orpheum theater last year.
